Please join us in the Prayers of the People

July 11, 2020

If you missed sharing the prayers with the People of God, let's pray now: We share our concerns, confess our sins, and pray.

Leader: With all our heart and with all our mind, let us pray to the Lord.   I ask your prayers for our Church Leaders: That they may lead St. Paul’s into being an inclusive, thinking person’s church....

Congregation: where everybody is somebody, where money never determines value or worth, and where Jesus Christ is Lord!

Leader:  I ask your prayers that in all our ministries we are true to our mission:

Congregation: “We are a Gospel Community of Christians committed to building strong, holy lives; reaching out in love to others; strengthening justice and compassion throughout our community, and winning souls for Christ and his Church”

Leader: I ask your prayers for those on our various cycles of prayer:

Leader: That others will know....

Congregation: they are Christians by their love.

Leader:  I ask your prayers for the sick and those with health concerns, especially those suffering the effects of the corona virus, those making decisions about limiting its spread, and those suffering from violence.

Leader:  Help them remember....

Congregation: the Lord is their shepherd.

Leader:  I ask your prayers for our enemies:

 Terrorists- foreign and local

 Those in our personal lives who have wronged us

 Those perpetuating violence

Leader:  Help us obey your command when you said....

Congregation: “Love your enemies and pray for those who sin against you.”

Leader: I ask your prayers for our world:

 Donald Trump: our president and his team

 Our world, especially North Korea

 The USA may heal from our racial divisions and the violence they produce

 Wisdom for dealing with youth

 Those who hate enough to terrorize and sufferers from terrorism, especially those in ISIS & those shooting people in the USA.

 Equal justice under the law in our country.

Leader: Because Lord.....

Congregation: You hold the whole world in your hands.

Leader: We thank you that our prayers are heard and answered, even when the answer is not what we thought we wanted.

Congregation: We thank you Lord.

Leader: We thank you for:

 Those with birthdays-

 The life and companionship (of all our dear departed-

Congregation: with such a great cloud of witnesses.

Deacon: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.  (Kneel)

Everyone: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name.  Amen.

Priest: Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins (+) through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life.

Congregation: Amen.

Worship Leader: Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life.

Congregation: Amen.
